Sherman Wine and Music Festival Live Outdoor Entertainment Texoma Grayson Wineries
The Annual Sherman Wine and Music Festival takes place on a Saturday in October on the Sherman Municipal Lawn.  This outdoor event showcases area wine, entertainment, food and fun!

Texoma Wineries and Growers plus a Little History

North Texas vineyard and winery owners will be on site to provide maximum opportunity to experience Texoma wines.  Find out more about the newly formed Munson Wine Trail, so named in honor of area native T.V. Munson, who in the 1880’s is credited with saving the French wine industry.  Thomas Volney Munson (1843-1913), the internationally known horticulturist from Denison, Texas developed over 300 varieties of new grape varieties specifically for the American South and Southwest. He is perhaps best known for his work in fighting the phylloxera epidemic of the late nineteenth century, which nearly wiped out the world’s vineyards. Munson belonged to and was honored by a number of viticultural and scientific associations and was considered a leader in the new scientific movement of the time for his cutting-edge work in breeding plant varieties, some of which are still important in modern viticulture and research.

Performers

Established in 2006, this event grew from the desire of the community and downtown merchants and restauranteurs to support Downtown Sherman Preservation & Revitalization (http://www.shermantx.org/dsprabout.asp) while creating interest in and educating participants about the great music and wine of North Texas.

Finally, let us thank our generous Sponsors and event committee members for bringing this event to our community.
